@persMail
If you wish to have an @apers.net E-mail
address, please contact me here, stating
-Full name
-Country/state/town of residence
-Current E-mail address (to forward your @apers.net E-mail to).
Why am I doing this? There's a few main reasons. Firstly, to compete with Nameplanet.com, the greedy, faceless corporation who have Apers.com. Secondly, so I can get in touch with more of the Apers clan worldwide, and lastly because it's fun. :-)
Note: There are a few conditions. You have to have the last name Apers, and you have to accept that as I'm just starting this up, and I'm doing it in a low-cost way, there may be outages. On the other hand, I promise that this service will never be charged for, your E-mail will never be tampered with, your E-mail address will never be sold/given away, and there will be no advertising added to your E-mail..
I may at some stage soon add POP3 support (so mail can be retrieved directly from this site using most E-mail clients) but there will be no SMTP support. An open SMTP server can be used by spam-mailers to send their rubbish anonymously, and spam annoys me just as much as the cyber-squatting done by Nameplanet.
More on my beef with Nameplanet:
Having asked Nameplanet a while ago if I could reclaim my family name, I was told in no
uncertain terms that while I was welcome to sign up for (spam-filled) E-mail there, they
were not willing to sign over the domain. I find it hard to believe that there are enough
Apers' out there to make holding the domain worthwhile. The amount of money they make from
the few people sending their advertising-littered E-mail can't possibly cover their
registration and administration costs. I considered taking legal action under the recently
enacted Cybersquatting legislation, but although I believe I would eventually be sucessful
(seeing as they have no valid claim to the name at all), the costs involved would be
prohibitive. So instead I have decided to simply compete them out of even wanting to have
the domain name. If you wish to aid me in this cause, simply sign up for an @apers.net
address and cancel your nameplanet account. If you wish you can also send their customer service team an E-mail advising them of the
reason for the change. If and when they do relinquish the domain name, I will pick it up
and extend this service to Apers.com. Anyone with an Apers.net E-mail address will
automatically gain the equivalent Apers.com address.
